Some scientists have speculated that chemicals in coffee called chlorogenic acids help regulate blood sugar levels. A study from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark found that coffee drinking improved blood sugar control, but found no difference between light and dark roast coffee. Dark roast is higher in chlorogenic acids. Regular coffee drinking is a good way to promote blood sugar regulation and prevent type 2 diabetes. It doesn’t seem to matter which kind of coffee you drink.
